Asher Jiang
Asher Jiang is a theoretical philosopher and associate professor of philosophy at Tsinghua University in Beijing. He is the author of two books in German on philosophy; one concerning Logical Empiricism, the other exploring David Hume’s theory of conceptual thinking. He is also the author of six papersin German or English on metaontology and metaphysics, all of which have been published in leading philosophy journals. Jiang's academic journey began with the completion of his PhD at Heidelberg University in 2010. He subsequently served as an assistant professor at both Heidelberg University and Zurich University from 2010 to 2017. In 2018, he successfully completed the traditional German Habilitation examination. Since 2017, he has held the position of associate professor at Tsinghua University in Beijing. In 2018, he became editorinchief of the renowned philosophy journal Tsinghua Studies in Western Philosophy.
As a Berggruen China Center Fellow, Jiang is researching pluralism within the most fundamental human worldview. This research aims to provide a theoretical basis for pluralism and tolerance in cultural practices.
