Max von Bismarck
Max is a Partner and the Chief Executive Officer Europe for SkyBridge Capital, a leading alternative investments firm. From September 2005 until May 2011, he was the Director and Head of Investors at the World Economic Forum where he built and lead an international team based in New York and Geneva responsible for all global activities and relationships of the World Economic Forum related to finance and investment. Furthermore, Max oversaw the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on “The Future of Long-Term Investing” and was a trustee of the World Economic Forum Retirement Plan. Prior to joining the World Economic Forum, Max was a serial entrepreneur. He was a Co-Founder & Managing Director at Public One Strategy Consulting, where he advised federal and local governments on issues related to foreign investment, technology & entrepreneurship.
Previously, he was a founding team member of the Oxford based technology company Mondus Limited. As the Director Legal, he helped build the nternational operation and was involved in the successful trade sale to SEAT Pagine Gialle.
He studied Law and Modern History at St. John’s College, Oxford University, and Humboldt Universität zu Berlin and holds an Executive Masters in Global Leadership from the World Economic Forum (Program in collaboration with Wharton School of Business, Columbia University, INSEAD and London Business School). Max was named a German-American Young Leader of the Atlantik Brücke in 2004 and a Global Leadership Fellow by the World Economic Forum in 2005. He is also a Senior Advisor on Global Business for the Stanford Program on Regions of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Asia Pacific Research Center of Stanford University.
