Nicole Grunwald Silver

Associate Director, Berggruen Prize & Board Relations

Nicole Grunwald Silver is Associate Director of the Berggruen Prize and Board Relations. In this capacity, she works closely with the Institute's President and Leadership team to support the strategic engagement, governance, and operations of the Board of Directors. Additionally, she is responsible for overseeing the annual Berggruen Prize for Philosophy and Culture as well as supporting special projects such as the launch of the Berggruen Institute's European office and the Berggruen Prize Essay Competition.

Prior to joining the Institute, Nicole managed John Legend’s philanthropic work through FREEAMERICA and The Show Me Campaign at Propper Daley. With The Skoll Center for Social Impact Entertainment at UCLA, she advanced key programmatic work leveraging the power of art and entertainment for impact. Previously in New York City, Nicole served as Associate Program Manager at the Clinton Foundation, focusing on issues of gender equality and early childhood education. She also served on the Foundation's communications team and on President Clinton’s correspondence team. Nicole graduated from the University of Southern California where she received her bachelor’s degree in International Relations with a concentration in European regional studies as well as culture, gender, and global society. She speaks German and Spanish.
