Toomas Ilves is a Berggruen Fellow researching the regulatory and technical solutions necessary to ensure continued functioning of liberal democracy in the digital era at the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University. He is the former president of Estonia (2006 – 2016) and has also served as the chairman of the EU Task Force on eHealth.
